Virgin and Universal have struck a deal that would see Virgin customers download or stream unlimited DRM-free music for a monthly fee.

For a monthly fee, Virgin’s broadband customers will be able to download or stream as many MP3 files as they want.

As part of the deal, Virgin has pledged to aggressively police usage to stop the MP3 tracks turning up on file-sharing networks.

The UK Internet provider Virgin has struck a deal with Universal to offer their customers unlimited DRM-free music at a fixed monthly rate. As part of the deal Virgin committed to doing everything in their power to prevent people from sharing music on its network, including the option of disconnecting persistent offenders.
