The point of NASA is to srudy space and other planets. Such as the search for life, studying effects of radiation etc. It is not and never was an agency set up solely to visit the moon.

Why go back? The point of going was to show that we *could* put men on the moon. The only reason we have to go back to the moon is to build a space station there and possibly a base to build spacecraft due to lesser gravity.

the point of NASA isnt only to go to the moon. y9u may have noticed they visited Mars, Jupiter, send probes into deep space and to other planets in our solar system, as well as Hubble telescope etc. The most advanced scientific institution in the world with some of the worlds greatest scientists and engineers doesnt come cheap.

The computers they used were about as powerful as a ZX Spectrum, which when they went to the moon *was* a supercomputer.
