with the recent (usual Autumn) price slashing of the consoles the console market seems to have hotted up with the Cube outselling the PS2 (weekly sales not total sales) with both of them having been drastically reduced.

Cube seems to be fizzling out with hardly any games in stores and Nintendo being stupid (not releasing Animal Crossing for example), but with a huge list of games coming out in next three months and an 80quid price tag can it overtake the XBOX for the number two spot?

Will XBOX be slashed to price match the other consoles?

Will there be yet another price drop by PS2 if it continues to lag behind Cube in weekly sales?

PS2 Black: 139.99, Silver 149.99
XBOX: 149.99
GameCube: 79.99

not to mention the handhelds with GBA/SP now having competition from Nokias Ngage (PS1 standard graphics) and soon to be NG32(can bung on emulators etc of anything up to I think PS1/Dreamcast etc)
