I love alice in chains. Its totally great the way they made me feel i every time i listened, despite falling to the whole idea of a cliched rock band and a drug overdose fuck-up costing Layne his life. Its not as if it wasnt expected though, and the musics all littered with drugs shrapnel and references. Gerard wrote a song about the guy, I'm looking forward to hearing it. its not every day your heroes die. Ook Staleys not my hero but his music is, its a big part of the music i listen to and its weird now and sad hes gone when i listen.
Is there anyone else that likes alice in chains apart from my band, or are they too "rock" to be good any more? People say music is something to look forward with, but i think much of the good music is in the past, recorded and kept forever, for us to listen to.
If anyone did Higher English today youll know that this idea of music came from todays Interp passage but it was boring as shit. Sorry i didnt like it. Dont you think that the guy in the 2nd story sounds very like Axl Rose though, spandex tight pants and wailing and all that. It was funny, i laughed out at one point. The other one talked about music's changing face and how Recorded Music Vs Live music is a battle. I think recorded music has benefited all of us, making is easier to record, easier to get it around, and easier to edit and make more pleasant. Or is music better and more enjoyable live and raw, without the records and tachniques or editing, the "Real Thing: Warts and All" as the guy said today.
Whats better: live, energetic and uncut, or studio perfect records that will last forever, capturing a great moment of music to be shared with listeners?
