CD Review
Here's a review some person gave our e.p....don't know who cause it doesnt say but ah well.
3timesround - “Our Laughter is More Important Than Your Feelings” “Our laughter is more important than your feelings” is the latest instalment of 3timesround’s greatly expanding career. Their previous album “Who wants to start a revolution” was just the talented foundations of what is proving to be a very promising musical profession for the three eager-eyed musicians from Newport, Scotland. The album consists of five songs, each with their own individual sound and meaning. The songs cover mostly feelings of anger through separate situations though mostly, through the loss of someone dearly beloved. All lyrics were written by the bands bassist Sean Arnold, “We just want our listeners to have a good time listening to our stuff, like either seeing us live or gettin’ lucky with someone in your bedroom.” Many of the songs are inspired by happenings in the bands own lives, stemming from serious goings on like “All the children look so blank” inspired by the boxing day tsunami, to the less serious “Goatsheads Gathering” inspired by a number of parties the band have attended at their friend Goathead's house. Symbolism is also used in the album, particularly on track 4, “The rocks are too big for mankind.” The song talks about how sometimes clues people give us, are just too obvious for us to see, resulting in mankind not being able to determine and notice a problem. The overall sound of the album is heavy, distorted punk. The listener really experiences the emotions presented through the music. 3timesaround’s music has many times been compared to Greenday; however I think that, although there is a ‘Greenday-ish’ element to their music, there is always another influence that can be found. The softer songs such as, “All the children look so blank” is kind of ‘Greenday meets Funeral for a Friend.’ Emotion and power in the lyrics with a heavy punk twist makes for excellent listening. On the other hand the heavier songs such as; “The Rise and Fall of Success” I would describe as ‘Greenday meets Avenged Sevenfold’ because of the punk sounds mixed with fast and furious drums. I highly recommend this album to anyone that wants a good listen. Great for chilling out with your mates to or if you just want some good quality music to listen to. reviewed by: Track Listing for “Our Laughter is More Important Than Your Feelings” 1) The rise and fall of Success 2) All the children look so blank. 3) Goatheads Gathering 4) The Rocks are too big for Mankind 5) Five Hundred Reasons Star Rating (Out of Five): 4/5 |

I'm pretty pleased with it but I found the bit about "Who Wants to Start a Revolution" pretty hilarious considering it sucked so badly.
I didn't really understand a few of the comparisons made but ah well. And I think it was abit one sided too seeing as it never actually slagged anything about the cd but I'm not complaining haha Last edited by Rob3TR : 18th August 2005 at 07:57 PM. |

again same with the Calibre XX review, Most of this talks about what the songs are about rather than saying "oh this is technically not bad but when the bridge kicks in it really shows this", send a copy away to Punktastic and see what they've got to say about it
