We've met Janis a few times when we were in Emergenza and she was a really nice, helpful, friendly person and she's came on here to explain everything but ur still not happy.
As for Emergenza and Dundee scene becoming a joke out of it, I duno bout the 2nd part as I don't know how different Dundee's version was to Glasgow's but in Glasgow, each member of my band payed £10 each which is less than I'd pay for 2 practises and got 2 really good, really packed gigs out of it.
We barely sold any tickets for our 1st heat but got through on the crowd vote so what Janis said about that was true although I cant deny that I'd prefer it to be judges than the crowd but we still won over a crowd that didn't know us and that was 1 of my proudest musical moments.
We made the semis at the Barfly. Sadly we were on 1st which probably didn't make it as good as it could have been with a place at Carling Academy at stake and to get there after 2 really good gigs makes £40 seem like nothing really.
We didn't get through but we were happy with the way it was ran etc and look forward to taking part again next year where we don't have to pay any money and to hopefully get to the Academy this time.
I've not met any other bands in Glasgow that have a bad thing to say about Emergenza so I dont see why it's so different in Dundee.
