Backing and funding can be the same thing under different names. Emergenza claim to be scouts for Sony Germany so that would imply Sony are closely involved at some stage.
It's a really minor point to try and pick in that argument though. There is no similarity between Alex's job and Emergenca, to suggest so is rather ludicrous.
