Simple.

Take your strings off. Take the nut off - it this is glued on, use some warm water and carefully chissel it out. use a fine grain sand paper to take away any excess glue. buy a new nut - about 50p. Glue it back in, restring, and your off!.

If the string dont settle nicely in to the grooves, use a small file to make the slots bigger. Make sure its nice and smooth tho, and you dont leave any raggy bits of plastic that the strings can snag on.
