Harry Potter migth ahve been banned from places like schools because a lot of people objected to it dominating the childrens literature market.
Personally I think it's good that kids read anything at all but there were a lot of people objecting to the quality of literature that Harry Potter subjected children,and more specifically teenagers and young adults to.
Harry Potter being more like the written version of a movie than literature in classic style.
