we started with a 50year old drum kit, practice bass amp, 3 practice guitar amps (one for vox).

now we've got a 50year old drum kit, a Peavey TNT115, Marshall Mg250dfx combo, Avt150 halfstack, Some PA joe bought.

You don't need to have great equipment to practice at home, you just need to be able to hear each other, not have good enough sound quality for a performance.
