I've come to realise that there are alot of individuals operating within the music industry that are annoying the living shit out of me at the moment. Most of them probably aren't worth mentioning(expect for perhaps Johnny Borrell from Razorlight who in my opinion deserves an iron bar across the teeth). However, I really can't stand the sight of Bono! Does anyone else agree with me in the respect that he is a jumped-up, egotisical, self-righteous and self-involved twat who probably could significantly help the depraved, starving souls of this world by donating a percentage of his wage instead of running around posing as Jesus Christ while moonlighting with the likes of G.W.Bush(probably simutaneously developing new strategies to promote new album). What a fucking cunt! And what is more annoying is the fact that tabloid magazines(I'm thinking of the likes of Q, NME) hold this prick and many others like him up to be the saviours of music and society as we know it.
I'm normally quite resilient against this shit but sometimes it just gets under my skin and enrages me. A perfect recent example of this is that fucking disgusting display of ignorance, channel 4's Hall of Fame. I mean, ROBBIE FUCKING WILLIAMS?!? Best act of the Nineties? Are you fucking joking?!? Even Oasis deserved that title more than him!
I guess what I'm trying to say is this. I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the overwhellming lack of awareness in the general public in recognising what possesses an applaudable degree of artistic merit. Some would argue that U2 had this earlier in their career but I certainly would volunteer in taking part in the firing squad appointed to whomever would state that it this still the case. Vertigo is one the worst songs I have ever heard and I can't remember All that You Can Leave Behind being much better. I know this because I owned it (briefly) and Robbie FUCKING Williams, well, I guess he gracefully brings a close to this rant. Music is an art form, not a product. Why are so many of us that don't realise and reinforce this fact?
