*Sigh* I've already stated that this has nothing to do with music I like or dislike. I like some music, that I don't consider to be particularly high quality, similarly I dislike some music that I consider to be good music. Not all of my music taste consists of music that I'd consider to be superior to what's in the charts.

I really don't like the music of U2, but I can respect that they're talented artists.

Like it or not, not all music takes the same kind of talent to create. Most of the music in the charts was written purely for commercial gain, there's no soul to it. The lyrics were written purely to appeal to a certain demographic, the music simple , catchy and unchallenging.

There may be music which the majority of people consider bad, such as the Cheeky Girls, or that the majority of people who are into alternative music consider bad, such as Girls Aloud or Busted, but you cannot say based on that that it is categorically bad music.
If you'd read the thread, then you'd know that we're not saying this music is bad, based on the fact that we don't like it.

Look, if I tried to claim that "spot the dog" was as good a literary work, as the works of Shakespeare, I'd rightly be called a moron. But because it's music taste, everyone has to get all politically correct, and up in arms about the fact someone could possibly judge one artist to be better than another. Some forms of music are just technically superior to others, get over it.

Also, music isn't entirely subjective, it has objective qualities which you can judge, just like everything else.
