in an ideal world UGS would be dominated by underground music discussion. Unfortunately this isnt the case because a lot of people share an interest in both unsigned music as well as signed music , and to limit discussion to one of those would be unfair.

All i can suggest is trying your best to post as much about unsigned, underground acts as possible to try and attract discussion and other people who share the same view as yourself.

With the recent launch of the gallery section, now is a good time to start trying to pull in this type of content. i'll be attending more local gigs, as many as i can with my camera in order to help facilitate this progression.

The first version of this site focused entirely on underground music, had over 70 hand type band profiles and lots of pictures and links to unsigned bands, that was before the focus turned on community. When the forums were relatively young, we had a hardened following, its hard to get that back because the site has grown so much that as well as attracting people from the unsigned DIY side of things, its also bringing in people from the more commercial side of things. Its not a bad thing, but i agree the content of the site should bias toward unsigned bands.

People also add their gigs to the forum, but never bother to add them to the gigs calander which ensure that their gig is displayed on the front page a week before the performance.
