i think the key in this whole thread is really the "too much" part i.e. salt and fat are actually needed for your body for some things, but too much is bad for you, same as most things.
there is no safe way to lose weight fast the only thing to do is get a proper diet, get some exercise and stick to your new lifestyle. dieting doesn't work because your body will just re-adjust to your new diet and so you'll always have to stick to it or your weight will just balloon again. sure you can lose 14stone in a day

, but it'll go straight back on when you come off the diet. i mean you could stay on forever, but who wants to stay on atkins forever and live a life of chronic dog breath and bad wind (these are real side effects of atkins)
