I wouldn't worry about our genetics though. I think genetic engineering will cure defects like people being short sighted within the next two centuries at least (although probably a hell of a lot earlier than that). I imagine there will still be some people that refuse to have their children genetically engineered though.

To be fair though, a lot of intelligent people wear glasses, like scienticians and all that like. If we killed them all off then there'd be less science and I would be sad.
