If the guitar has a longer scale neck then it'll be able to handle lower notes easier, ie, it'll keep the tension better (ie i know Gibson use shorter scale necks than fenders )

Im assuming that'll work anyway, i know thats the case with having longer scale necks on basses ( ie 35" opposed to 34" )
