True, if the weather is going to be catastrophic and kill all of humanity then I don't suppose there is much point in worrying about it.
Although I don't reckon in the for-see-able(sp?!) future there can be too much that can go wrong, it takes the Earth a long time to "conjure" up anything globally destructive. However if you are meaning floods, hurricanes etc. Then yeah back in the day (when civilizations were getting wiped out) there weren't so many of us around, so i'd think the death toll would seem much higher.
Maybe its just me rambling on mind.
