I think there can be a line between promoting good music and corrupting it. I mean MTV did it themselves in the early 90s, that's how they made their name. The problem is the formatting I think. Showing the same video three times in an hour then having the presenters jack off all over it is not the way to retain integrity. I reckon Zane from MTV2 is pretty cool for that. He doesn't just jump up and shout about how the latest The band are the saviours of rock and roll or whatever. On occasion he actually insults a band, which I reckon is pretty cool of him. You can showcase new music without oversaturating it. Objectivity is all that's needed, and less marketing.

So in conclusion, music television could be a very good thing for music, but at the moment it's shit.
