When someone decides they're willing to put you up to avoid you having to sleep in a van or pay to stay somewhere, don't take the piss...
e.g.
-Don't get hammered unless you know the person who you're staying with is cool with it.
-Don't spread all you bag's/sleeping bags all over the place.
-Clean up after yourself.
-Just cos you're staying in someones house doesn't mean you can help yourself to everything they own.
-Don't just assume it's okay to smoke in someone's house.
-If you break/spill/destroy anything it's your responsibility.
I've had a lot of bands stay over in various places I've lived & the majority of the time they are curtious, clean & helpful.
The band I helped out most recently as a favor so they didn't have to pay for accomodation, took the piss. I wasn't arranging a gig for them, they were on tour with a pretty big name band & needed a floor for a couple of nights.
Several members got totally loaded both nights & managed to wake up the people I live with.
When they went off to play their gig they left all their bag's & stuff spread out across the living room & when they left the following day it took me a good hour to clear up all their crap. Needless to say I won't be helping them out again.
In short: just don't be a dick.

To fucking true. After putting on a gig for a couple of touring bands, i took one back to my back place to stay. I didn't quite get it when they repeatedly asked if it was ok to smoke a fag yet they started throwing poppers around each other no questions asked.
Also, one of them took it upon himself to start knocking shit over and shout like an arsehole. I was seconds from kicking him out but rather than cause a fuss i just got my head down and slept and was rewarded when they accidently left 3 quarters of a bottle of JIm Beam Behind. Cheers boys
