I don't think it is that serious because the whole situation that he describes is clearly a lie, therefore the whole basis of his point can't be true.

However I will say he is a shit stirring bastard.

AND the only reason he probably tells those 'jokes' is because it gains him popularity with most Texans, or any other American on that 'central belt' or whatever it's called. I still question his seriousness.
