My impression is that no one is pissed off with the actual content of what guy is saying, more the context in which he's saying it. His delivery is trite, racist, and profoundly unfunny.
Think about someone like Chris Morris talking about a subject like paedophilia and being hilarious, because his satire is great. This guy, as you pointed out, is likely going for shock, but at the end of the day it's just prejudiced shit and really not funny.
Someone like Andy Dice Clay can pull of the "I'm SOOO offensive thing and I SOOO don't care" thing and get away with it, but this guy unfortunately can't.
