I can't afford to spend £500+ on an amp, so i was looking at cheaper alternatives hence the laney.

yeah, i'm totally elitist, thats why i do most of my recording through an (awesome) valve sovtek that cost 100 quid.

I dont understand how assuming a valve amp was solid state can make me elitist?

Also there is nothing obscured about my judgement, what i know about guitar amps is based on using different ones every second day for the last 5 years, not just favouring the expensive ones, as you'll discover if you read any of the posts i've made on this subject in the past.

Yes, i made an assumption in my original post, yes it was a silly mistake,
but my point still stands, any laney amp i've heard, apart from the old ones, sounds like a steaming pile of shite. Might be to your taste though, who knows.
