The point of reviews isn't to be nice, its to be honest, and you nailed it on the head. But if you're not going to write one because it's going to be bad and you don't want to get the flak for it then that's just stupid. You've been on this site for a while and have always had an opinion on something and shown it even when others disagree with it so what is the difference with showing your opinion in a review? I've written reviews for bands and artists outwith my musical taste and all have been honest and i don't think once have i had to take any sort of flak from the subject band. I guess it depends on how you word you're review. Cunny wrote an infamous review which was totally brutal but honest and he got a lot of shit for it from all directions, but at the same time he got a lot of love for it too.
