Well, Dawkins doesn't really force his opinions on anyone. He just mercilessly tears religion and the new age movement to pieces in his books and documentaries.
He's not coming round to anyone's house and making them read or watch, Clockwork Orange style.
But, like I said, it would be good to have someone who does the same thing in a more tactful, less arrogant and sneering way. That might involve more people who haven't made their minds up yet.
A lot of people back away from or mistrust science because they see it as a collection of statements or dictated 'truths' which might contradict their world view. What is often ignored or unappreciated is the process of science, how these conclusions are arrived at. Namely, the scientific method, which is mankinds greatest achievement and, while it is imperfect, there exists
no better way of assessing the 'nature of the universe' objectively.
