Having been brought up in a fundamentalist household (and my parents still being believers) I am in a VERY good position do 'proclaim them as evil behemoths'. I also did Theology as my minor at Uni.

So there's no correlation between Religion existing and people being able to use Religion as an excuse for wars? It's far too easy to assume that people are committing the vilest atrocities on their fellow human beings just because they are 'egotistical' when the unpalatable truth is that the vast majority are doing it because they genuinely believe it to be the will of whichever 'god' they believe in.
