Aye. There were some players though that you could actually dribble some distance with, also there is a lot of skill involved, for example when you could see the ball escaping the control of your player all it required was letting off a little on the joystick and recollecting the ball as it rolled away from you, and who can forget those swerving lobs from just inside the halfway line. Long live SWOS.

Gamespot.com has a good interview with the lead developer of SWOS, Jon Hare. Some interesting comments regarding Cannon Fodder.
