Having just employed someone I have had to go through a LOT of seminars and stuff about employment law and it is amazing the stuff you can't ask or say!

At the moment it is a sad case that men are hired more than women in some companies because of the 'risk' that the woman may get pregant and be off. This soon won't be an issue as both fathers and mothers will be entitled to take off the same amount of time for paternity / maternity leave.

As an employer I have found that the cards are most definitely stacked to the advantage of the employee.
