No one! Don't be silly!

Actually I'm sure I contributed to a Wire thread a couple of years ago, so there must be someone else.

For me, the holy triumvate of television dramas is The Sopranos, Deadwood and The Wire (Battlestar nipping at their heels, we'll see how the final season pans out). It's always tough to decide on the best, but overall I think The Wire might just take it. The show just NEVER fails to deliever, and every season has been a joy. It's also the best example of a television show that managed to do everything on its own terms, and came to its natural conclusion almost completely uncompromised (Deadwood was cut tragically short while the Sopranos, in all honesty, was stretched out a bit too long due to its success). Perhaps Deadwood wins out in terms of individual moments of utter beauty and humanity but, taken as a whole, The Wire is unique in terms of what it achieved.

Series 1 was £25 in HMV last time I was in. One of the best purchases you'll ever make.
