Oh man. Showing my age, and how massively nerdy I am, but I made a couple of Doom graphics patches once, when I was about 15.
Two character replacements, for the imp and cacodemon, replacing them with two people in my year, made from some very poor quality images from my school year book.
Took fucking ages too, because there were something like three or four frames of animation, for each of the 8 directions the character could face, and I had to fake the side-on ones myself in photoshop, because the photos were from the front.
What a massive waste of time that could have been spent doing something way more interesting. I was even more nerdy then than I am now.
