Doesn't matter if it's a massive corporation or a dude selling pens from a plastic bag, Trading Standards law still applies. If it isn't $5 to get into the night then the advertising is deliberately false.

I hope everyone turns up with US currency and causes a major financial hit to the moron who thought putting $ instead of £ was 'cool'.
