The Top 6 Run-in

How good is it this year? Every team is still fighting for something and every game is massive.

Celtic need to win both of their remaining games and hope Rangers draw or lose.. either is as good as each other at the moment. A win against Hibs next week will make Rangers work for the title down to the Bhoys last game against United at Tannadice, which is promising to be one half of a last day title decider.

Rangers can't drop any more points otherwise the title is back in Celtic's own hands realistically, due to goal difference. The draw at Hibs blew the race wide open and fixture congestion and injuries are a worry for the side as after the UEFA final they play 3 games within 5 days. Their gauntlet of games starts in two days at home to Motherwell.

Motherwell are in the strongest position to qualify for Europe having games in hand and being a point ahead of Hibs and United and three ahead of Aberdeen. However, the games in hand are against Rangers home and away and Walter Smith's side will be unflinching in their determination to put them away.

Dundee United haven't won a game since 22nd March and have the toughest run in with a game at Ibrox on Saturday and against Celtic on the final day. They have the biggest chance to shape the way the league title is going in Glasgow. Previous resuslts and performances against both teams have been promising and if they win both games they have a massive, massive chance of qualifying for Europe.

Hibernian have the advantage of being at home against one of their immediate rivals, Motherwell, on the last day of the season. Their performance against Rangers on Sunday was cagey and cautious and they'll need to show more willingness to take the game to their opponents, especially at Parkhead on Sunday, if they're going to have a chance of finishing third.

Aberdeen have apparently come from nowhere after scraping into the Top 6 and then stunning Hibs and United at Pittodrie to somehow climb back into European contention. They need to win their remaining two games and hope other results go their way but stranger things have happened in football and the pressure is on the other teams to perform like they have all season and see their own fixtures out, Aberdeen could sneak through and nick third place for a second season in a row after playing fairly rank all year.

(Anyone know what they're doing last day of the season?)

I'm very fucking excited.

Who's going to win the league and who's going to qualify for Europe? Anyone willing to stick their neck out?
