This Dispatches programme has strengthened recent thoughts I've been having about becoming a more vocal atheist. I've only ever encountered one fundamentalist christian in my life and always just pitied her as a little deluded but no harm to anyone. I never really thought about the negative influence religion is having politically in this country and that people like her are providing a loyal fan base for it. I wasn't dumb enough to assume that everyone in UK parliament was entirely secular, of course, but this kind of christian lobbying always seemed very American and suitably mocked. But the influence of the ignorant displayed during this show was really quite shocking and anything but amusing.

Watched this too and like the warning said, I was offended.
The woman who asked the camera to be turned off after being presented with the 'how old is the Earth question' was a high point.
