I'm sure in years to come this will be a popular addition to the series.

What's more ridiculous than chasing a crowd of birds into a Nazi plane?
Or bumping into Hitler and getting his autograph?

Spoiler:
And it was logical they progressed into secular mythology after exploring Christian, Jewish and whatever they were going on about in The Temple of Doom

However a criticism would be that stuff seemed to come out of nowhere inexplicably, which is why people are a bit "WTF!!".
Same thing pissed me off with Transformers. People sitting with their thumbs up their arses going "DUH IT WAS STOOPID PLOT, I DIDDUNT LIKE IT". When they handed over their cash were they thinking a movie about giant robots which turn into cars punching eachother was going to be anything more than a movie about giant robots which turn into cars punching eachother?
Transformers, Indiana Jones: sit down, switch off your brain, enjoy the flashing lights and loud noises.
