A question to those of you who play football, or know the rules in detail.
The supposed 'offside' goal. When the ball was played forward, there was an italian player next to the goal but OFF the pitch - he had been involved in the play and knocked over by his own goal keeper.
Does that still make it offside? I'm a little confused about the rule here, as it would mean that a player who is playing someone onside could just step behind the goal to make the play offside.
In my opinion, the goal was good... but I'd like clarification on the rule from someone who knows more than me.
