It's not big, it's not clever and it's got fuck all depth but at the end of the day, even you can relate to it!
The Dirty Wee Middens formed back in late 2002 when myself and my brother Lee went and picked up a couple of guitars after having the idea that we wanted to form a band. Neither one of us could play a note, but why let something as small as that get in the way of us?
I quickly honed my skills using the Idiots guide to playing guitar (yeah, and that bastard book ain't as idiotic as it seems!) and within weeks we were belting out Anarchy in the UK from our bedroom with amps cranked full and windows jammed open.
After a good wee while the two of us kept bringing different people in and out of the band constantly. Being new to the whole band thing we forever got the wrong people in the band, for instance at one point we had a ned and his blink loving friend playing alongside us. Eventually after recording a few tracks, original and covers with various line ups and friends helping out we put the Middens on hold and played with a friend of a friend in a band called protex_blu. This fell to peices like rotten shit however and in September 2005 after some looking and scraping, we finally put together a line up of good friends and musicians who, like us liked a beer, a laugh and a good hard shag (not with each other....to my dismay!)
Wee Update: Due to other commitments our drummer Gally had to leave the band. His replacment is Regan. A gentle soft spoken little chap who drinks like an alchy, swears like a bastard and has openly admitted to shitting himself....literally, alough it wasn't on purpose as i first claimed!
Wee Update #2:. After countless missed practices and a willingness to pass the buck all the time Chris quit the band. We Swiftly brought Gally back in as he's originally a guitarist anyways so now we feel like this is our line-up

We Play a simple brand of tuneless spunk rock 'n' roll that may not be note perfect but it's played with heart and lager so it's all fucking good!
Recently, we've played and promoted a gig for Trashlight Vision and our aim is to keep going with this. We hope that in the near future we can work with the local scene and people in it to get some bigger and badder rock 'n' roll bands into Dundee. Trashlight Vision shall be the tip of the iceberg for us!
We've Just recorded an EP, very tastefully titled The Embarassing wood EP.
