A Written Apology

A Written Apology is a metal/ metalcore band, that formed in late 2003/ early 2004, with it's core members aged 16/17. A four track demo CD was recorded in June 2004, after which point the group began to gig extensively locally and across Scotland. This demo was also reviewed in extreme metal mag Terrorizer, receiving a very complimentary 7.5/10 and drawing comparison to such metal/ hardcore crossover luminaries as Earth Crisis.

However, in December 2004, with the departure of original vocalist Dave McAffer (now of The Fall Of Boss Koala and also previously Avast!), the band began an 8 month hiatus. With the addition of a new vocalist in Martin "Doughboy" Barker and a line-up change on bass, replacing Andrew Rennie with Michael Sword, the band is now stronger than ever.

A Written Apology's new material is far more diverse, technical, accomplished and mature- sounding than the self- titled four track, drawing from and building on a list of influences including Darkest Hour, Still Remains, Heartscarved, Angels Never Answer, Envy, Circle Takes The Square, Unearth, Killswitch Engage and more.

A new E.P is currently being recorded, and will be available in the very near future. Whether the world will share the optimism and enthusiasm the members of the band have for this release is yet to be seen, but one thing is for sure; there is an expectation to be met, and hopefully exceeded.

A Written Apology is not about bullshit fads, trends, and looks. We do NOT conform to a uniform "band look". We do the same as we always have, and play the music we enjoy, regardless of comings or goings in fashionable music circles. British heavy/ extreme music is full of clones (with obvious notable exceptions), regurgitating the same passionless nonsense over and over again; A Written Apology does not want to be drawn into or associate with this fairweather crowd.

Please catch us at a gig near you soon, if you want to watch an honest group of friends stretching ourselves musically, physically and mentally we may go some way too providing an enjoyable experience for you.

Otherwise this may just be a load of pretentious jumped up gash. But you can choose.

Bobby
