The Mighty Youth
I saw last night one of my all time favourite bands. I almost creamed my fetted pants when they walked on stage, one by one to sultry ambient noise.
Tighter than an arsehole in a prison shower. The only thing that nagged, and it nagged a fair bit, was a problem I met when last I saw them at T in the Park: a fairly major lack of classics from their set. By my count we were blessed with -7 from Sonic Nurse -2 from Murray Street -2 from Sister -1 from Goo Now I can understand that any band will be wanting to publicise a new album, and the songs most recently written will no doubt be the tightest, but if they are a band that people are unlikely to see for another 5+ years, are we not entitled to a few classics? And then to top it off, they come on for an encore and leave after one song, with barely two minutes of white noise to entertain us. Grrrr..... If I didn't love every minute of it, I would probably have left disapointed. |
