Saw Flying Matchstick Men play with Kid Canevral and the Incredibles...or the Invisibles (I can't remember...) on Friday 6th in St. Andrews Union for the mere price of £3.50.
Anyhoo, wasn't overly impressed with Kid Canevral, the Incredibles/Invisibles were not baaaaad and the Flying Matchstick Men were great! Really enjoyed their set even though they were playing blind to us due to their monitors packing in. Great stage presence, good banter between songs and overall great sound! Very enjoyable. |

the fridays/the redwalls/nine black alps at king tuts on sat night.
the fridays were awful, god awful.think they just read the nme one week, formed a band the next and played this gig the week after.out of time, horrible songs and worse vocals. the redwalls on the other hand were fantastic,a chicago band who have beatlesesque influences.really good harmonies and just good pop songs. nine black alps wanted to be nirvana.and failed, enough said. |

i just saw Beck at the Carling Academy.
it was fantastic! dissapointed that mixed bizness wasnt played, and the between song banter was a bit muffled. 'loser' was a highlight along with the two versions of 'clap hands'. plus Beck is probably the coolest chap theres ever been. |
