Seen them play Newcastle a while ago. My only memory of it is making someone eat a mars bar out of the crack of someones arse. |

Went to see Brian Jonestown Massacre last night and they were amazing.
3 hour set with every song being better than the last. I will be hard pushed to see a better band this year,Anton is a legend. |

Dan Sartain, last night. Fantastic minimal rockabilly/Elvis Costello/Duane Eddy-type fun.
And Casiotone For The Painfully Alone the night before. He's a bit Magnetic Fields/Pet Shop Boys-ish. Which is good. |

Seen Down on the 27th in the ABC and it was the best indoor gig EVER! Such a great atmosphere, I want to do it all again this w/end
There was no support as it definately wasn't needed, just 2 and a half hours of sheer music liberation.....no gimmicks, no bullshit. There was an added bonus of witnessing Phil attempt to play guitar but he's about as good as me which means he's shite. What a leg-end. Best songs for me : Ghosts along the mississippi & bury me in smoke |

saw The Aquabats on Wednesday night at Studio 24 in Edinburgh
loved it. Allister were performing too, they were ok, but nothing compared to the bats themselves. They really know how to put on a show.. |

Sparks at Ferneham Hall, Fareham. They were fantastic, despite recent last-minute line-up changes. In fact, the show was even better than their one in Glasgow in February.
The show was divided into two hugely-differing sets again: The "audio-visual" live version of their new album hasn't lost any of its humour or impressiveness after second viewing. They played unexpected songs in the "greatest hits" set, like 'In The Future' (which is blatantly the greatest song of all time) as well as 'This Town Aint Big Enough For The Both of Us' etc. It's good to see a band approaching 60 years old still sticking their necks out with increasingly strange music, and not content to just rewrite their hits over and over. |

Mogwai at the Barrowlands last Saturday. Great gig. Good choice of set list. "2 Rights Make 1 Wrong" and "We're No Here" were the highlights for me. Kid 606 was the support act. He was alright but the least exciting live act to watch i've seen, seeing as it was just him with a laptop.
