... Rasputina at the Windmill, Brixton.
I've waited about 12 years to see Rasputina and, for me, anyway, it was worth the wait. The venue was pretty small and cramped, but I got a good view and although there was frequent interference on the speakers from mobile phones during quiet spells and a loudmouth oaf talking through the entire show, the sound was good and they played the majority of songs I really wanted to hear. ![]() I probably could have spoken to them if I'd had more time to hang around afterwards but I suspected I'd act like a foolish little fangirl and start screeching and/or crying. |

![]() I love going to gigs, my favourite was TAI at the glasgow garage. They were brill live. Fun gig. Also, im going to see a band on the 28th of March in the barfly, The Hold Up, they are called, not many people know about them, or well maybe they do and I'm just oblivious lol but they are really good from what I've seen. Anyone else like punk rock kind of music? x |

Stewart Lee: Live DVD record @ The Stand Glasgow
Fucking brilliant!!!
I cant wait until this DVD comes out so i can watch this set again. I just hope my gurning chops aren't in it too much due to being right down the front and creasing myself with laughter the whole way through. If you ask me Lee is the finest stand-up of his generation and still pisses over most current and up-and-coming performers despite hitting the big 40 this year. The set was all the usual comedy cliche's (razor sharp, edgey, brilliantly inventive etc... etc...) but had a warm hearted personal touch rare in most satirical comedy. if your not familiar with Lee (why?) check out some of his stuff on you tube by clicking this link... Gord, Claire (Starla) and I accidentally sort of saw Bon Jovi last night.
We were trying to see Stuttgart's stadium (as in the football team) but as we approached the mullet frequency increased and the sound of wailing guitars was apparent on the wind. Then we made our grim discovery and watched Jon Bon, Sambora and co. do their thang for a bit through a fence and left. |

Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip at Oran Mor on Tuesday (supported by Cadence Weapon and Kid Carpet).
It was awesome. They came on to a Pokemon theme tune remix, and for their encore they covered The Specials and Sugababes. Last edited by iamtehzen : 18th July 2008 at 10:55 AM. |
