DJ Format w/ Abdominal and D-cissive

I've never been the greatest fan of hip-hop, basically because the majority of the stuff I was subjected to was shit.

A couple of months back I went to see DJ Premier play at Glasgow's art school and it was... fun.

But not great.

Recently I've been forunate enough to be getting into a lot of Warp artists and as a result have been hearing some pretty good hip-hop: prefuse 73, anti-pop consortium, quasimoto etc.

So, I get taken along to see the DJ Format malark by ma burd, and on the way discover that tonight I'm going to be entertained by a bunch of honky mo fo's.

And it's fucking AMAZING. Seriously: intellegent and witty rhymes over a lovely fusion of soulful clever beats.

Marvellous.

We get told that our firend abdominal is in fact rather good at endurance rapping, and, it being glasgow, a game involving alcohol seems only reasonable.
Abdominal takes one breath and has with this one breath to produce 8 bars of rhyme.... a hairy task at the best of times to perform. While he does this though, some man (perhaps half machine?) takes the stage to try and down a pint.
Genius.

There new album is out the same day as the royal wedding, and I know which event I will be paying more interest to.
