i heard they were playing arbroath, they were meant to be playing in dundee on a bill organised by myself and a mate. they were pulled by their record label after they read comments by people saying what they thought of TTN (who run the label that thisGirl are on) but rather than phone myself or my girlfriend to inform us that they had been pulled, lockjaw phoned the venue and left a message with a part time member of staff which wasn't passed on.
we currently still hold a signed contract for thisgirl playing the westport on 19th July and have requested lockjaw recompense us our expenses incurred as they failed to inform us of a cancellation. despite them claiming to have left messages on our voicemails, neither myself or my girlfriend have ever had voicemail set up on our phones as we cant figure out how to do it! they said it was now with their lawyers, and but rather conveniently, they've gone away on holiday. i just think its a damn shame they're on lockjaw as i'm pretty sure they'll get milked for as much money as possible, hence them touring so much in such a short space of time. i wish i'd asked around before taking on TTN for a gig, the price we paid for them to play was between £100 & £150 more than they would have looked for a show in northern england. they're out to rip off promoters who are new to it, and from what i remember they said they were always willing to give new promoters a chance ( i wonder why that is....) anyway, glad thisGirl put on a good show, i wouldn't mind catching one of their shows myself sometime to see if they live up to all the hype. |

yeh, it kinda sucks wen a band gets caught up in the crappy politics, but i guess if their record company tells em not to do something they gotta listen to them. More importantly though, they put on an exclelent show far exceeding my expectations

its called Breach of Contract, and i think you have a case. After all, it is up to them and not a third party (i.e. bar staff) to tell you of the cancelation and so they are at fault. And to pull a show due to feedback does not constitute reasonable excuse to breach a contract before complesion. i'd take it to small claims dude.

I saw them (this girl) on thursday at Dr Drakes in Aberdeen, I can agree that they were top notch musicians and very energetic, they were also extremely professional and polished but I feel their songs lacked something and were very samey.
Liber8 on the other hand were superb, tight as fuck, songs with more hooks than a fishermans hat, boundless energy that takes your breath away and they are sexy looking bastards as well. But of course i'm biased I'm their manager!! he he! G... |
