Wait!I've liked them since I was 6 - does that count as hardcore? Hahahahaha, I've read Brian Wilson's autobiography a few times...

Why is kokomo taboo?
Kokomo is taboo cos' its godawful

Here's a little quiz I have concocted, get full marks and you truly are a hardcore BB fan

1. What was the Pet Sounds track "I Know There's An Answer" originally called?
2. What's the name of the lyricist that collaborated with Brian Wilson during the Smile sessions?
3. Name the Beach Boys first album
4. Which Beach Boys song was co-written by Charles Manson?
5. What's your favourite Beach Boys two-fer album? (No right answer as such, but you're choice will be scrutinised by me)

Ok, I'm not sure about any of these, but I'll give it my best shot:

1.Hang on to your Ego
2.Van Dyke Parks (?? He was there in the studio anyway)
3.Eh, Surfin' Safari. (It's the earliest I've heard about)
4. Aha!!!Never Learn Not to Love/Cease to Exist. That one I know for sure. Q magazine doesn't.
5. Gawd, may I have 3 please? "Surfs up/Sunflower", "Friends/20/20", and "Surfin' Safari/Surfin' U.S.A"

sorry if I offend you with any horribly incorrect answers, but I did my best.
Aruba, Jamaica, oooooh I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama, Key Largo, Montego...

My favourite twofers are probably Surf's up/Sunflower, Today/Summer Days (and summer nights) and Smiley Smile/Wild Honey, but your choices are great too

Hooray!!

I thought about Smiley Smile/Wild Honey, but Friends is such a great album (I keep wanting to make a short film to "Wake the World" ) and "I Can Hear Music" is one of my all time favourite songs.

Hehe, this is going to be great.

Hi-di-hi

Hello,

Very good Avril. You have shown your Beach Boys knowledge to be most worthy. You are indeed a real fan.

Sorry I haven't been in touch, I the bit of paper Ashley gave me. Oops!

Cannae wait for the Wilson-meister!!!

Here's a few more Beach Boys questions to pass the time:

(1) Name the Beach Boys erstwhile guitarist, who was replaced by Al Jardine.

(2) In what year was Brian Wilson's solo album released?

(3) In which music publication did the Beach Boys come 1st in a 'Most popular vocal group' yearly poll, coming ahead of the Beatles?

(4) Who sang lead vocals on 'Help Me Rhonda'?

(5) What is Brian's favourite Phil Spector-produced hit?

Hope that gives you something to think about,

Bye guys,

Meat

I'm utterly bored so I made up another beach boys quiz

1. Name the two musicians that joined the Beach Boys briefly in the early 70's (And featured on "Carl & the Passions: So Tough" & "Holland")

2. Which Beach Boys album did Dennis Wilson refer to when he was quoted as saying this: "I hope that the karma will fuck up Mike Love's meditation forever. That album is an embarrassment to my life. It should self-destruct"?

3. Which two BB songs appear on the movie "Look Who's Talking"?

4. There is a song on Air's "Moon Safari" Album that samples a BB's song. Name both songs

5. Who sang the vocals on "A Day In the Life of a Tree"?

6. What was Dennis Wilson's follow up to "Pacific Ocean Blue" going to be called?

7. What nickname was given to the group of musicians who worked with Brian at his peak (Pet Sounds/Smile era)?

8. Which Pet Sounds track was slightly speeded up to make Brian sound younger?

9. Who did Brian appear with on a Saturday Night Live Sketch?

10. Why are Dennis & Carl both dead yet Mike Love is still alive? Where's the Justice in that?

Hey guys.

1. Ricky Fataar & Blondie Chaplin

2. I think it might be L.A. (Light Album), but not 100% sure.

3. Not a big 'Look Who's Talking' fan - maybe God Only Knows/Don't Worry Baby

4. I think it's the drum part from 'Do it again' on a song maybe called 'Remember'. From memory, it sounded similar, but I wasn't sure if it was sampled.

5. I think it might be Jack Reilly and it sounds like Van Dyke Parks near the end.

6. Bamboo

7. The Wrecking Crew

8. Caroline No?

9. Dan Ackroyd & John Belushi

10. God is dead.

Glad to hear you got the tickets. Speak to you guys soon

Meat

Well done Meat, you got all of them right except for the Look who's talking question (and I can't verify Q10 ). The 2 BB songs used on LWT are "When I Grow Up (to be a man)" & "I Get Around".

My turn now -

1. What's the name of the dog you can hear barking at the end of "Caroline, No"?

2.Who originally sang "Graduation Day"?

3.Name the folk group that Al Jardine played guitar and sang for before the Beach Boys

4.What two L.A. radio stations started playing "Surfin'" when it was first released?

5. What lyricist wrote "don't worry baby", and who was Brian considering giving it to?
