Ok, since theres been many comments on our guestbook, and other guestbooks around, what does everyone actually think about Cupar and its music scene?
What bands do you like? What has disappointed you? How good are the gigs? Whats the future of the "scene"? Ill have different views that a lot of you probably since im in a band, its different. Some ppl have said the scene sucks, and its not what it used to be, but basically its just changing, Goldbloom and Chug and SOA are still around, and a couple of new bands. Gigs are going on all the time and its fun, its looking good anyway for the bands... Am i wrong? |

Good point, but even from a band members point of view, the whole cupar music thingmebobby is gettin a bit droll. Its not that the musci isnt up to standard, in every case i can think of it is even better than ever, with bands developing to write some fuckin excellent material. Its just that theres nothing to really interest the people who come to the gigs anymore, because no bands have got any proper widely available cd's out, noone can go crazy or sing along to songs because they dont know them.... and with the general set up of gig's sound, you cant get to know them all that well when ur at a concert. The other problem with bands playing their own style and type of music is that now noone plays covers which fans know and can get enthusiastic about. I think the way forward is for actual bands is to produce cd's once a good amount of original and catchy material is written and put them out, not only to giv the area something new, but to get away to elsewhere as demos etc in order to brauden their horizons in the form of gigs and opertunity.
But As for the cupar music orientated gigs go, i think they are still as good as ever, everytime theres a gig in the area, no matter what, people all still come, turnouts have ranged from 50 to around 300 people! and thats a plain fact that echoes the fact that people are still enthusiastic about the scene and even if they wernt... gigs are an ideal opertunity for people to unwind, meet new people, have some fun and if ur into that sort of thing....... get some action!! The scene is somethin to be proud of and that people still are pleased to help out by goin to gigs, but people need something new and interestin to chew on to boost it a bit! |

I like fusion boxes. Hamish is kinda right, i just couldnt be bothered typing for that long so i let him do it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> And someone buy me a digital 4-track or 8-track, then we'll get more cds out. Also, its not the only way forward, we also need to do what we said we'd do a long time ago. Broaden our horizons by playing in Dundee, Edinburgh, Perth etc. The perth thing should be sorted soon. There, byebye... |

God, that just wastes the records. I hope u didnt use any good records of yours like the Beach Boys. Just Mariah Carey ones, k? |
