Punctures
punctures suck baws. I had a good ride on my bike tonight, jumpin off a few walls and stuff, then 2 minutes from home, hit a kerb and all i heard was a loud hiss and my tyre totally deflates. Feckin hugemongous 'snakebite'. And these are Nokian downhill tubes that had plenty pressure in them. Damn rubber.
Feckin punktures. E

Ive got a mega-slow puncture just now. takes about 3 weeks to lose a noticable pressure. I run my tyres at 80psi thought which doesnt help (i like the risk of breaking my wrists if i dont land somethin smooth).
U tryed running two tyres? Makes your bike heavy (i recommend shaving off the grips and taking out the steal wall linings) but if you ride alot of street it works well. |

I don't really ride street. Mostly off road, but If i can't be arsed going up a hill just to come down it, i'll just ride about the town.
I've got panaracer fire xc pros on at the mo coz they're pretty good all round tyres, but there gettin a bit worn. The bike is a rocky mountain hammer race. I've got ace wheels. Mavic F519's laced to some lovely blue Hope hubs and skewers. The sound of the freehub is fantastic, nothing clicks quite like it. Generally XT, but it's a race face chainset. Lookin to ugrade to some Marzzochi forks this summer along with a blue hope headset, to match the wheels. Yes, I'm a bike pimp. I only want the blue bits coz it'l make the bike look cool as f*ck. BTW, anyone off to fort bill in a couple of weeks. I ordered my tics tonight. E

i cant make it up there
![]() i run a muddy fox aluminium frame, but its sturdy as fuck and just the right weight for me. Panaracer fire xc pro's also, good for generally everything. XT all round, except for magura brakes. Old rokshox judy's, dont like em at all... Havent upgraded the bike for about 3 years, havent ridden it for about a year and a half after an accident, all this talk is making me wanna go out now though... |

I ride BMX so I have to argue that G-Sport hub with a G-Sport freehub is one of the sexiest sounds around. Unfortunatly ive only got a shimano (eugh!) free hub on my G-Sprot Homer but its still cool.
I quite like riding BMX in dundee. prefer it to glasgow cos alot of the scene here involves what are basically ned-bmxers. they love starting fights with randoms and trashing places (not saying that it isnt fun but it gets a bit tedious after a while). One time we were out and they went past some woman with a lovely Minolta Dynax camera (i used to do photography as well) on a tripod taking picture of the clyde and they just went up, knocked it over then pissed off laughing. The camera was trashed an i felt really sorry for her. Hence why I ride by myself in glasgow. |
