Support us when we play with the Suburban Legends!

yeah it's finally been confirmed and we'll be supporting the Suburban Legends, Littlest Man Band and Army of Freshmen when they tour the uk in september. We'll be playing with them in the Cathouse on their only Scottish date as the only local support!

does this face me make look excited? i am

So yeah, here's a little about the bands incase you don't already know:
  • Suburban Legends Now, with some bands, hearing the word "disco," in the same sentence as "we’re working on," would incite rolled eyes and pained groans, but with Suburban Legends, anything is possible. Truly, their musical scope runs the gamut of musical genres, composing a most addicting blend of Ska-ragtime-blues-glam rock-funk laced together with good old American pop essentialism. The overall effect is something like two parts Broadway, one part dancehall, one part barbershop quartet, and three parts marching band (after all, most of the band members did actually meet in the high school marching band more than a few years back), with a dash of rock and roll from every era—all danced to a Bob Fosse step and performed with the modern power of popped punk rock.

They are veritable stage veterans, frequently selling out Southern California venues like House of Blues, Chain Reaction, and The Glasshouse, having shared the stage with Goldfinger to Sugarcult to Fishbone, and having performed over 962 perfectly choreographed shows in the year 2002 alone.

    MP3s are here!
  • The Littlest Man Band An amalgamation of years of playing together in various forms, The Littlest Man Band was created by Scott Klopfenstein as a release for frantic home recording sessions that had left him with a multitude of songs. Scott hand-picked his bandmates from friends he had played with throughtout the years in many different genres, resulting in a melting pot of sounds that is refreshingly versatile. The music created thus far has proven to be an unclassifiable mix of jazz, singer-songwriter, tounge in cheek, experimental cocktail that has a truly unique quality. Armed with three piece horn section, a fender rhodes, an upright bass, guitar, drums, and vocals all over the place The Littlest Man's debut album "Better Book Ends" will prove to be a truly outstanding first stab.

  • Army of FreshmenWithout the help of a label or agent, Army of Freshmen have played over 500 shows in 37 states and two countries, sharing the stage with bands such as Good Charlotte, AFI, The Ataris, Sum 41, Alkaline Trio and Yellowcard. It’s been a hard fought battle to get to their current point but if AOF has proved one thing it’s that all the money and connections in the world don’t make up for hard work.

The Freshmen wasted no time and honed their original two keyboard, melodic pop meets punk by playing all over Ventura County. Before they knew it they were playing up and down the entire state and just two years after forming, AOF was off on self booked tours throughout the country in the same mini van Chris had left home in. Using an apartment shared by band members as a headquarters of sorts, the 6 piece dove head first in the industry by working day and night on any and all "band stuff".

Along with the sales, the band scored a reputation for a no holds barred, crowd participation heavy, energetic live show. From stage dives, to pits, to pogo sessions, to sing alongs- AOF shows are a good time. Many a band says "you need to see us live" but with the Freshmen it’s actually true. Even the most jaded scenester has admitted that AOF puts on an unrivaled live show.

  • SpaceMan Lance we've been together for around two years now i think, we've played gigs supporting the likes of Jesse James, The Planet Smashers, Howards Alias and Jan Feat. UDSSR. our poppy/punky 6 piece ska with full brass has really come on well in the past few months with a line-up change and a new cd, The Steve Danger EP. nothing else to say about us except we're working our asses off so if you've seen us before expect all an all new set with plenty of surprises and if you haven't seen us before i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

    MP3s here!

so anyway the idea is we're going to have a bus running from somewhere in dundee (details will come later) so that we can have plenty people coming to this gig.

i'm getting to sell the tickets for A DISCOUNTED PRICE!!!! of £5 so if you are going, buy from us, you'll save £2.50 and we're also paying for most of the coach hire so you can get to and from the gig for £5.

that's £5 a ticket, £5 for the bus. can't say fairer than that for some awesome bands, check them out you won't be dissapointed!

email me at spacemanandrew@hotmail.com if you're interested in a ticket or just reply to this thread.

thanks for reading!

Not trying to digress from the point of the thread BUT no way can they have played that many shows in a year.

But yeah as I said I'll probably working when the gig is. Good luck with it though.
