although kev has missed almost a majority of good venues in dundee i vote westie cos it is seriously underated, tis cheap as fuck to rent, stu is a great sound guy, you always get a friendly atmosphere (if i step into reading rooms or drouthies, everyone stares and makes comments of 'mosher') and it is in a very central location close to a bank and corfu, what more do ya need?

i think the Westie is seriously OVERRATED as a venue.
My favourite place to play is Dexters, because it's got a nice layout, and the sound has been top notch the times we've played there. I really like Drouthy Neebors when it's crowded and sweaty, but having said that it's nice when it's quiet and intimate too. The Dundee Rep Theater Cafe looks like a nice place to play, very cosy. The best places to play are the ones that don't cost you a penny to 'rent'. Get a grip people, stop paying to play gigs! |
