yeah but can you count on getting over 100 people to every kirrie gig? i doubt it! its grim, we need a cheap venue!
although if the "skanks for the memories" summer tour goes ahead i think that the final show should be in kirrie, a kind of end of tour party, featuring some of kirrie's finest alongside the bands on the tour! |

weeelllll, it was just basically an idea jonny and i had, a summer ska tour with OMR, the lance, misled youth and the 44s!
Kev said he'd try and get in touch with the 44s and all the other bands are up for it! the kirrie gig would have to feature checkers, sonnet and tom kirkmans band though, for that 'party' feel |

well i certainly wouldnt have a problem with it except that most of the time the dundee crew dont bother their arses to come to a gig in dundee so its unlikely they'd come to kirrie

The kirrie gig thing is quite a dodgy thing, Westmuir blocked me having gigs because that grant guy fucked up majorly when he had a go at putting on a gig, i'd also like to add I've never had a complaint from the westmuir committee about an mt gig.
As for the town thats a load of pish about having to pay for public liability insurance, i think i had to pay around 120-130 quid for insurance on top of i think its abt 96quid for hall hire if i remember correctly. and then you have to hire in a decent enough pa system as the hall is that big. If you want a way around it u cud speak to the folk at the community education at fairlie house, they hold public liability insurance which they may let u use if all profits are donated back to the community education so that they can use the money to put towards there various projects, u may even get lucky and they may even pay for the hall hire and the sound engineer, thats what they did for the Battle for the Little Red Town and look how succeesful that turned out |
