I am so confused!! Have looked for more info about points and subscriptions etc but still don`t understand how it all works. where do points come from? whats their function? feeling a bit thick KJ

i should probably put this to you somewhere else but don`t know where. its probably all simple really....just need it explained please

Paypal is pretty much the standard though. Also I think the board looks better without signatures. They suck, what's the point? If you've got anything that is really interesting enough to say in a signature, it's going to be interesting enough to post.

You get points by posting. 5 a post i think. You use them in the store, in the standard skin the store link is in "links", if I remember right. You can use the store if you subscribe.

Points + Subscription = Buy stuff in the store

Agreed, and if it is interesting and/or funny. It will cease to be very quickly, after being in every fucking post you make.

Besides which, if you think your sig is funny or interesting, it probably isn't. Especially when they consist of "hilarious" msn chats.

it may be standard for you...and selected others on the site! but for the majority of us, we dont have paypal accounts. and belive me, for my ebay account i have tried to gain access to an account thru paypal, but because i have a highline card it wont register. anyways back to the point of signatures. i belive this site (yes yes i've said this in the past but it's important)....This site is called "UndergroundScene.co.uk, the home of 'mostly' British Underground Music." i never joined the site to argue if i should pay for a signature or not, i joined to promote my band. I think it's a bit unfair to users to take away something which shouldn't have to be paid for i mean it is fine if we were told off such as "please note, all users will be warned once about exceeding the 7 line limit on signatures blah blah blah " instead of taking away our signatures and asking us to contribute to the site if we want a signature.

My self as a ugs user would contribute to the site if there were and easier option than paypal, and also we've played a few ugs fundrasers all equally as important as the monthy subscription fee. I belive anyways.

I kinda meant it's the standard method of secure payment over the internet, but as xglittermeupx said there are other ones, like splashplastic. Maybe the mods should look into it as there are people who cannot use paypal, like those 18+ without appropriate cards and those U18.

I dont see why people have problems with paypal, if you can buy stuff from your average online retailer, you'll be needing an email address and a credit/debit card. This is all you need for a paypal account.

technically you don't actually even NEED a credit card for a Paypal account, you can give one of your friends (who has a normal credit card and a paypal account) some cash, then they send the money from their bank account to their paypal account then to your paypal account. then you can buy stuff with paypal.

It's actually even simpler, i think. I'm pretty certain you can do it with just a bank account, all you need is account number and sort code.

People moaning about paypal are ignorant.

Basically you get points for things you do on the site, if you post you get points, if people give you good rep you get points, if people give you bad rep you lose points, if you get threads and posts deleted you lose points etc etc. these points can then be used to get stuff from the points store, but some items also require you to have a subscription...

Yeah you can get a PayPal account with just a bank account with Direct Debit.
But it would be nice for other people who don't have that option to have a different method.
