the best thing about his rap show on radio one was his comedy crossfades between songs where he'd play a huge explosion sound then swiftly switch to the other song to hide his lack of mixing skills. Dropping the Bomb indeed..

He has no real ties with any of the good UK hip hop scene, he is basically an over rated sheep, who follows all the chart pish hip hop.

Tim Westwood is held in high regard on both sides of the Atlantic. Over the course of the last decade the only way your hiphop record would sell any numbers in this country was if he championed it on his show. He still chooses the bulk of the Radio 1 rap/hiphop playlist and because of this he is wined and dined by all the stars from the States.

Of course, this has just had the effect that he acts like a total muppet but I love him, he can't dj for shit but he knows how to pick a banger. Best night I have ever had in a club was him dj'ing at the Tunnel with Paul Goldfinger, i didn't leave the dance floor for over two hours... me and my mates were saying "next pish song i will stop for a drink" but he just kept pulling out banger after banger... the place went fucking insanse when he played Superthuggin, there was pictures on his sight of at the end of the night, fucking class.

but i digress, he can't dj, he speaks pish, he acts like a kid but he is more succesful and influential than any other uk bred dj (except for the cream of the dance scene)

--edit For all the jokes at the thuggery and what not that goes on with the pimps and players... Westwood does have serious connections with certain gangs in london and only recently had a price on his head lifted by the Yardies. (they shot at him before)
